Job Description

$18-$20 DOE Hourly

East View Mission Statement: To provide a compassionate environment, which supports life enrichment activities and helps strengthen their natural support networks for the well-being of our residents to sustain or re-gain as much of their independence as possible and enhance their quality of life.

Position Summary: The caregiver is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of senior individuals that reside in a residential home.

Activities of Daily Living

- Prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents.

- Encourage and support residents to help with meal preparation given their personal needs or respective care plan.

- Assist in self-administered medication for the respective resident.

- Monitor, assist and interact with basic daily life enrichment activities for each resident.

- Support individual daily skills with household chores, laundry, cleaning and washing dishes, etc.

- Maintain residence- both interior and exterior, help assist in cleaning resident’s personal room.

- Encourage residents (assist if necessary) to care for hygiene and personal needs such as using the restroom, bathing, and washing their hands.

- Ensure all individuals are dressed appropriately.

- Follows safety protocols to foster a safe working environment. Immediately reports safety violations or unsafe conditions to the Manager.

- Protect Resident Rights and ensure an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.

- Maintain an awareness of each resident's general state of physical and mental health and report any changes at once to the Manager.

- Encourage and support natural support networks within the community, attend church and faith-based activities, join groups and clubs, socialize with neighbors, roommates, and friends/family.

Schedule

Full-time (36 hours per week)

3 x 12 hour shifts

NIGHT Shift (7:00pm - 7:00 am)

FRI, SAT, SUN

East View operates 365 days a year and is open 24 hours a day including holidays

Job Requirements

Valid Driver’s license

Current Resume

CPR / AED / First Aid

TB Test

12 months of experience in working with people with elderly care.

Must be willing and able to clear home entrance areas of snow and other debris.

Ability to work on holidays and during inclement weather events.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Formal background check will be conducted at the time of conditional hiring.
