Fishing Bear Lodge is a wilderness fly-fishing destination in need of a cook for the Summer (June – August) 2021 season. The cook is responsible for providing hardy and delicious dinners, lunches and breakfasts in a remote and beautiful environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The cook position is responsible for all food preparation, cooking and baking. You will be cooking and baking for 16-18 people daily.
It is vital that our cook is positive, self-motivated, dependable, friendly, and a team player. It is essential that our employees get along with others well, both guests and staff. We are a small family-style operation and all of our employees frequently interact with guests. We need an individual who is healthy, professional, presentable, highly dependable, and really likes to cook.
We are looking for someone who loves being in nature (we are in one of the most beautiful places in all of Alaska) and will be ok being fully away from technology/social media. We have no tolerance for abusing alcohol or drugs – we are a small operation, and everyone needs to be working with a clear head.
This is a great job if you love to cook, love the outdoors, and love to fish. Additionally, you will be spending a summer in one of the most beautiful and remote reaches of Alaska. Must love dogs.
DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: The position runs June through August with the potential to go into September.
SALARY: Competitive based on experience
ROOM & BOARD: Included as part of your salary. While at the lodge, you will be staying in a private weather-port style tent on a raised platform.
