OT Systems Administrator (Anchorage)

JOB SUMMARY: The OT Systems Administrator, under minimal supervision, ensures safe and reliable operation of ENSTAR's Alaska SCADA/OT network routing and switching equipment and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Recommend, design, and implement OT routing and switching solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Work with key stakeholders, various vendors, and management to understand business and systems requirements.
  • Assist and cross-train with System Administrators and other business resources that support OT.
  • Monitor performance of technical infrastructure (software and hardware) and provide recommendations for technology upgrades and replacements.
  • Design, implement, and monitor security controls that strictly follow company policies and industry best practices.
  • Determine appropriateness of system changes or modifications.
  • Supervise the activities of on-site vendors or technicians.
  • Conduct daily security monitoring activities, escalating incidents as necessary.
  • Review vulnerability assessments and threat intelligence for continuous improvement and directed response.
  • Prepare technical reports and instructional manuals.
  • Keep up to date on new emerging technologies.
  • Coordinate small to medium size projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or any Engineering field preferred. Experience of an advanced level in relevant areas may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the Bachelor's Degree.
  • Four years directly relevant experience.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with LAN and WAN protocols including static and dynamic routing
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Control and/or SCADA systems and related protocols
  • Strong security aptitude including Firewall administration, IDS/IPS
  • LDAP and/or Active Directory administration
  • Proficient in Operating systems including Windows, some Linux experience
  • Professional or expert experience in managing IP networks and related protocols.
  • Expert in troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Safe Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a background, past employment, credit, drug, and driving record screening.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong technical expertise in Routing and Switching is required
  • In-depth knowledge of designing complex Routing and Switching networks
  • Ability to troubleshoot large enterprise networks
  • Experience in consulting, leading, and driving network designs
  • Experience working with network security devices (IPS/IDS, Firewalls) and Encryption devices
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter required
  • Good working knowledge of various infrastructure technologies, communication protocols, and networking operating systems presently used by Ability to learn new applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as listening skills
  • Ability to professionally and effectively: perform the job functions, communicate with the public, contractors, governmental agencies and representatives, and work with other departments and personnel to accomplish ENSTAR's objectives.
  • Proven organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate data, compile statistics and prepare reports, graphs, tables and charts.
  • Proven ability to develop and follow procedures/ documentation and comply with regulations and audits/inspections.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use/learn other technologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management, staff and contractors; exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others.
  • Possess superior information management and follow-up skills.
