HZA Engineering, a mechanical and electrical engineering consulting firm in Anchorage Alaska, is looking for a BIM Modeler / CAD Drafter to join their team. This self-motivated individual will work with all levels of management and staff to maintain CAD and BIM software standards as well as provide drafting support in AutoCAD and Revit.

Daily Duties/Tasks:

Setting up project base files

Provide BIM modeling and CAD drafting design support

Coordinate and manage CAD and Revit standards

Create Revit families and CAD blocks

Review all work for completeness and accuracy

Complete printing and plotting requests

Coordinate BIM file exchange and archiving of milestone submittals

Create project record drawings

Primary Responsibilities:

BIM modeling as needed and Project Management

Understanding standards in preparation of 2D/3D BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD, and other related technologies, and further building this technology platform

Managing BIM standards for a design team and the firm

Resolve complex BIM based issues that may arise in design

Reviewing drawing sets for company standards compliance

Training design and delivery for managers and staff to adopt to BIM standards

Stay informed of evolving standards and software innovations.

Required Skills/Experience:

2 years experience with Autodesk Revit or ability to demonstrate proficiency

2 years experience with Autodesk AutoCAD or ability demonstrate proficiency

Desired Experience:

Demonstrated experience with HVAC/plumbing and/or electrical system design

Management, oversight, and/or teaching experience in BIM Design

Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering design software

Relevant degree and/or trade school certification

Expectations:

Ability to exercise judgement and discretion to set priorities and manage competing demands

Demonstrate a reliable, responsive and positive work ethic with the highest degree of integrity

Ability to deliver ongoing education and support to Revit project teams

Ability to meet deadlines

Possess a strong work ethic
