The Anchorage Museum is seeking interested applicants for its 2021 Summer Digital Media and Videography. The incumbent will work directly with museum educators and Design team to support and assist in the development of the museum’s digital teaching and educational resources and will focus on developing the intern’s video, sound, and photo editing skills. The intern will additionally receive an introduction to informal education pedagogies and approaches.

WHEN: Summer Semester: May 2021 – August 2021, start and end dates are flexible. Work schedule will be approximately 10-15 hours a week, Monday – Friday.

WHERE: This internship will be mostly remote with occasional onsite work within the Education Department at the Anchorage Museum, Anchorage, Alaska.

WHAT: The Anchorage Museum is seeking enthusiastic applicants for the Summer 2021 semester for our Education: Digital Media and Videography Internship.

The education intern will work directly with museum educators and Design team to support and assist in the development of the museum’s digital teaching and educational resources. The internship will focus on video, sound, and photo editing as well as filmmaking and amination to produce digital media for the education department. The intern will additionally receive an introduction to informal education pedagogies and approaches. This opportunity includes mentorship in program development, time management strategies, and evaluation of informal learning environments. No previous teaching or data analysis experience is necessary, but a strong interest in art and education is preferred.

Internship recipients will receive a stipend of $2,500 per semester. Housing, benefits and transportation are not provided.

WHO: Applicants must be at least 18, must be computer and Adobe Creative Cloud literate, have experience in video editing and filmmaking, and should be a current college or graduate student in Education, Museum Studies, Art, History, Native Studies, Anthropology, or related field. Previous experience with curriculum development or teaching is preferred, but not required.
