GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:
In partnership with the school board, the Administrator is responsible for the school’s success. The Administrator provides spiritual, educational, and administrative leadership to the school’s campus and programs. It is the administrator’s responsibility to inspire, lead, and direct all phases of the school’s operations, including personnel matters (recruiting, hiring, coaching, rewarding, training, and retaining high performing staff while disciplining and terminating those who do not meet the school’s standards of excellence and integrity) and the execution of all educational programs.
It is the responsibility of the administrator to inspire, lead and direct all phases of the school’s operations, including personnel matters that require hiring, training and making sure that the established curriculum is executed by staff. Directly supervise teachers, teacher’s aide, bookkeepers, administrative staff, a janitor and the Director of the Early Childhood program.
In partnership with the School Board, the Administrator is also responsible to optimize all other support programs and ancillary functions necessary for a successful school, including a budget, facilities operations, missions, sports, and the creation of an overall culture of academic excellence that is capable of preparing students for future success in the 21st century. This should be balanced within a caring, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment. The Administrator reports to and takes direction from the school board, and must act in accordance with the policies established by the board. The Administrator must demonstrate effective communication and a relationship with three Association Lutheran Congregations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION
Education – Must possess a MEd, PhD or EdD in an appropriate course of study.
Experience – Must possess more than 3 years of experience managing and leading a similarly sized institution, preferably in a faith-based educational environment.
Faith – A successful candidate must have and profess a personal and mature commitment to faith in Jesus Christ and affirm the school’s statement of faith and mission.

Be able to articulate a Christian philosophy of education consistent with Scripture
Possess a deep understanding and empathy for the Christian school movement
Have broad experience as a leader, manager, and administrator
Demonstrate executive and management skills and demeanor
Display effective oral and written communications
Possess credentials that are appropriate for leading the school and its faculty/staff in fulfillment of its educational mission
Be personally convicted that God has called him/her to Christian school leadership and administration
Demonstrate a complete range of leadership skills and abilities necessary for success in this position, possess leadership that is characterized as dynamic and driven, and have a demonstrated track record of results-oriented leadership with specific successes to which he/she can point
Supervise and evaluate staff, make difficult decisions involving faculty and staff, and clearly and effectively communicate difficult messages
Demonstrate excellent time-management and organization skills; demonstrate an ability to delegate and to accomplish tasks through coordination and facilitation
