Child Care School Prep Teacher – Plan and carry out a daily program designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of children aged 4-5 years old.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

· Maintain a physical environment conducive to children’s growth and development.

· Work with Assistant Teacher(s) to create and facilitate lesson plans and implement appropriate developmental experiences.

· Consider and provide for the individual needs of each child in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background, emotional or physical handicaps, and individual learning style.

· Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child.

· Help children learn to adapt to and cope with real-life situations; to develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping, and personal hygiene.

· Make daily observations of the health of children, reporting conditions which require attention.

· Maintain progress records on the emotional, physical, social and intellectual development of assigned children.

· Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops, and other career development professional activities.

· Assist with monthly center newsletter.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

· Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification.

· Two (2) years’ experience working as a Childcare Teacher/Teacher Assistant.

· Food Worker Card, preferred.

· Ability to lift and move up to sixty (60) pounds.

· Must pass a state and federal background check.

· CPR and First Aid Certification.

General Information:

Location: 4401 E Palmer-Wasilla Hwy., Wasilla, AK 99654

Supervisor: Operations Manager

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Salary: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour DOE/E. Full time employees will receive full benefits to include: Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave and holidays, and retirement plan with matching contributions.
