First National Bank Alaska is currently hiring for a Mortgage Loan Processing Manager for our Mortgage department. The Mortgage Loan Processing Manager manages the mortgage loan processing function; monitors and maintains compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures and ensures internal and external customer service expectations are delivered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitors capacity between processors and ensures timely processing and completion of all mortgage loan files by directing the work of mortgage processors bank-wide; while maintaining a small processing pipeline. Works with multiple deadlines to keep files moving quickly and efficiently between units. Communicates and coordinates with mortgage lending staff, underwriting and management; reports status of loans to Department Head and originating Section Head.

2. Regularly provides all necessary compliance and procedural training and coaching to processors, including proactive and timely follow up with internal and external customers to ensure excellent customer service and quality processing; trains processors and originators on automated underwriting systems.

3. Reviews processed loan files as necessary prior to submitting to the Underwriting Unit to ensure underwriting and compliance standards and requirements are adhered to; reviews Good Faith Estimate submissions prior to delivery to customer.

4. Handles and corrects customer issues arising during processing; coordinates resolution of processing software systems issues with designated system administrator.

5. Coordinates development, interpretation, and implementation of processing procedures for new and existing loan programs and program changes; recommends to management ways to improve and streamline the processing function and maintains awareness of new trends and development in the real estate and insured-mortgage markets.

6. Handles complex loans by collecting, verifying, updating and compiling loan file information according to underwriting guidelines.

7. Provides administrative guidance regarding the processing function throughout the Mortgage Lending Department.

8. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the Loan Processing Unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and making recommendations regarding the hiring and terminating of employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance and two years loan processing or originating experience, including one year related experience, such as closing, real estate sales, or commercial lending; or four years loan processing, originating, closing or related experience; complete, current knowledge of FHA/VA, AHFC, FNMA, HUD 184, USDA, Cook Inlet and other investor lending guidelines; one year lead or supervisory experience.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance and four years investor loan originating or processing experience; complete, current knowledge of FHA/VA, AHFC, FNMA, and other investor lending guidelines; two years supervisory experience. Knowledge of Encompass System.
