Is this job for you?

We are looking for a highly motivated person with a background in payroll processing to oversee the payroll of our brewery and multiple restaurant locations. You must be self-driven, possess strong organization and attention to detail, and work well with others. An ability and interest in straightforward and consistent communication is essential between the Payroll Specialist and our accounting team, HR, and operations managers. A love of food, brewing, music, movies, climbing, skiing, Alaska, people, and/or community is not required, but doesn’t hurt.

General Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing

Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Google Office Suites and payroll software

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information

Ability to work with a team

Knowledge of payroll software

Knowledge of payroll, garnishments, and benefits distribution preferred

Multitasking abilities

Responsibilities:

Process accurate and timely payroll for all employees

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data

Respond to employee inquiries and resolve any payroll-related issues

Ensure confidentiality and security of all payroll information

Prepare and distribute payroll reports as necessary

Assist with year-end payroll processes and reporting

Collaborate with HR, management teams, and accounting departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing

Keep up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations and adjust payroll processes as necessary

Familiarity with benefit processes, vacation pay, 401k, and loans

Compile and audit overtime and pay advances

Create profit share eligibility lists

Conduct and manage a variety of audits

Prepare/maintain employee raise schedules and update in payroll & POS

Verify all payroll items (tips, grats, deductions, etc.) for accuracy before upload and reverify in the pre-process report before submission to payroll system

Perform other related duties as assigned
