ROLE OVERVIEW
The Controller will oversee all accounting functions, reporting, and staff. This will include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Compliance and HR, and all outside auditors.
This will be a hands-on position. The Controller will be directly responsible for the creation and maintenance of monthly financial status and project manager reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and manage all accounting records
Oversees all employees involved in the accounting process, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Compliance and HR
Manages an accounting and HR staff of 6
Monthly financial report management and maintenance
Audit management and oversight: coordinate and manage quarterly and annual audits, ensure auditors have all necessary information needed to render an accurate judgment of the company's financial statements.
Ensures that vendor and subcontractors are paid within terms
Maintain insurance renewals, business licenses and applicable required reports
Understand and ensure compliance of multi-state contracting and operational requirements
Coordinates Board of Director meetings
Training and development of accounting and HR staff, as needed
REQUIREMENTS
At least 10 years of accounting experience
At least 3 years of management level accounting experience
A strong and thorough understanding of all accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Compliance and HR
Someone willing and able to do accounting legwork as required
The qualified candidate must have the ability to stay organized and possess strong numerical proficiency, good problem-solving skills and excellent use of logic
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to use a big-picture method to approach tasks
Follow all local, state and federal tax laws and business regulations
Clean driving record
Proficiency and experience with JD Edwards Accounting and Job Costing is preferred
Experience with ReportsNow and Office 365 a plus
Must be able to pass a UA
