JOB SUMMARY:

The Card Services Manager is responsible for the strategy, execution and successful implementation of the credit union’s credit and debit card programs. Develops and implements card operations policies and procedures ensuring they meet all legal and regulatory guidelines while following strategic initiatives. Responsible for managing the plastic card business and card processing partner relationships. Creates and implements an ongoing strategy for adopting new card products and services to continually enhance the member experience and usage. Ensures the department provides exceptional member service in an expedient, accurate and courteous manner. Effectively coaches staff on evaluating members’ financial needs and recommends appropriate products and services while meeting the goals and objectives of the department. In all dealings with the public, members and employees, responsibility and ownership are taken and timely follow up is done on pending issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Design and implement the credit union’s credit and debit card lift and usage strategy.

Enhance the relationship with our card vendor and card processor making full use of all that is offered within our agreements.

Develop deep understanding of the credit union’s vendor partners to ensure our current and future needs are aligned with product and services offerings.

Drive strategy and card engagement based on data-driven insights. Proactively propose solutions to further grow the credit and debit card portfolios

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest technology and products for both debit and credit card offerings including digital and plastic.

Set, track and report on key performance metrics to support the credit union’s strategic plan.

Manage card and required disclosures inventories.

Analyze our card networks for expense reduction or income increase potential.

Analyze all processes to identify areas of improvement. Looks for new and creative ways to improve Card Services by identifying deficiencies and implementing innovative solutions.

Provide consistent coaching and support for the Card Services Representatives. Assist and encourage employees with cross selling credit union products and services.

Review and make changes to Card Services operational procedures and keeps abreast of regulatory changes to add and/or updates existing policies and procedures.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains a positive working relationship with branch and member service personnel, including management, supervisory and all other employees.

Meets the current standards as established for the department or branch in the completion of all assigned duties.

14.Responsible for department’s participation in every aspect of the Record Retention program. This includes the creation, identification, use, storage, and destruction in accordance with the policy.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of three years of financial institution experience and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is required; some college level business courses are desirable. This position also requires a thorough understanding of credit and debit legal and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and excellent organizational skills are required. Must also be proficient at Microsoft Office and other relevant credit union systems. Must be able to display creativity with development of ideas and solutions based on industry, member and employee insights. Ability to facilitate difficult decisions amongst stakeholders by putting member and employee insights at the center of decisions, as well as craft a cohesive and evolving member and employee-driven narrative around the user experience. Responsible for abiding and complying with the policy for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws and regulations (BSA/AML) and the policy for compliance with office of foreign assets control laws and regulations (OFAC).
