What does a great Business Systems Analyst do?

As "the" candidate for the Business Systems Analyst (BA) role, you are ready to take on dynamic challenges as a member of our Bank Solutions Project Services team. Our team provides customized solutions for the Signature core banking product. Your challenge is to lead engagements with our bank clients, helping them to strategize, and traverse through the planning and implementation of the various technologies and solutions within, and surrounding the Signature core.

Your responsibilities will include the design, implementation and support of software solutions and services. You will have a front-line presence with our client banks through the entire delivery process, capturing their requests, and translating them into agreed-upon business requirements and design documents. In turn, your designs will serve as the guide for the construction and quality assurance (QA) testing of the proposed solution. The solutions provided may consist of modifications or enhancements to our Signature banking product, brand-new products, integration with other Fiserv and third-party products, or any combination of the aforementioned. Finally, upon delivery and implementation of the solution, you will ensure that the functions of the product perform as designed, thus meeting the client's expectations.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
  • 3+ years of experience on the Fiserv Signature Deposit and ACH platforms
  • 8+ years of experience working as a Business Systems Analyst
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Able to engage with representatives of our client banks, working with them to drive toward a refined definition of their business objectives, leading to the project request.
  • Willing to act as the client's primary point of contact for anything related to Signature.
  • Able to author definitions and requirements of the solutions to be delivered; the scope, inputs processes and outputs; and communicate them to our bank clients and business partners.
  • Review peer requirements, specifications, test, support and training plans to ensure they are aligned with the business objectives per the client request.
  • Able to review of our organizational process and procedures; provide recommendations to improve business processes.
  • Experience navigating and communicating IBM i (iSeries) fundamentals, including but not limited to: library and library lists; file and data types; physical vs. logical vs. spooled files; character types numeric types; job management; batch vs. interactive processing; message handling and response; management of job output; creating and modifying queries; saving and restoring data; data transfer and file errors (level checks and missing data)
  • Experience explaining and resolving basic processing issues
Travel Required: 20% travel required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience reviewing and understanding business process around all of the client bank's modifications
  • Experience conducting preliminary evaluation and estimation for new project requests.
  • Experience assisting or leading in root cause analysis of issues, in order to recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity.
  • Experience utilizing systems and data to resolve business issues in the most effective manner. Experience providing financial or operational business related analysis and research to support business goals.
  • Command Language (CL) processing errors experience
