We are seeking a very experienced family paralegal to prepare uncontested divorce cases in all jurisdictions in Alabama. Most cases involve no real property and less than 40% involve children. The cases are filed pro se by parties.
The process involves you receiving a completed questionnaire. Based upon the same you complete the required pleadings and any known local forms for the appropriate venue. If necessary you work with the attorney to answer any questions you may have before preparing documents. Further, you may draft an email, on occasion, to send to the client to obtain or clarify information in the questionnaire.
You must be very experienced with the laws, court processes, and documents/forms. If you are experienced it will be easy to prepare an entire set of initial and final pleadings. Keep in mind these are very simple cases so both the initial pleadings and final documents are prepared at the same time.
You must know all pleadings and forms required and how to complete them given the answers provided in the client questionnaire. You must be able to work with little supervision and know from Alabama family law experience what to do and how to do it. You must be a self-starter and motivated to timely complete all tasks. Unfortunately, we do not have time to train you.
We offer a flat fee per case. You will not be an employee, but rather a contractor providing paralegal services on a per client case basis. There is an opportunity of 2-5 new cases per day, 7 days per week. We pay you every week or every other week for all completed cases received from you.
