Type of Requisition: SCAClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: NonePublic Trust/Other Required: NACI (T1)Job Family: SCAGeneral Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has partnered with NASA to consolidate select Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology activities from the 10 NASA Centers into a single shared services center located at Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi.The mission of the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) is to provide timely, accurate, high-quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused support for select NASA business and technical services.GDIT has an opportunity on the NSSC contract for a Technical Writer to contribute to our organization’s success in providing support services to NASA. This will be a full-time, remote position.To ensure continuity of operations of the NSSC program, the Service Provider is required to maintain accurate process documentation. This includes Service Delivery Guides (SDGs), work instructions, business rules and knowledge articles. The Technical Writer will support all functional areas to develop, update and maintain all process documentation by incorporating functional area content into approved templates and ensuring that document formatting is consistent with approved NSSC styles and contractual requirements.Eligible candidates for this position must be able to write and edit all types of documentation, including desk guides, instruction/procedural manuals, requirements documents, employee notices, letters, brochures/flyers, frequently asked questions (FAQs), newsletter articles, etc.The candidate must have strong skills in grammar, punctuation, and writing/editing for clarity. Candidate must have strong/advanced skills in using Microsoft products (especially Word and PowerPoint) and be proficient in maintaining version control and using Track Changes. Candidate must be able to work independently as well as with team members and must be willing/able to follow direction/processes.The candidate must possess excellent interviewing skills to work with all levels of personnel, obtaining information needed for each product. The candidate must be able to work with multiple Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)/customers through drafts and finalization on assigned projects. The candidate must utilize appropriate writing/editing skills to effectively communicate each project’s message to the identified audience.Candidates must possess extreme professionalism in the ability to work with high-level employees. The candidate must also possess extreme organizational abilities to record and track documents through drafts and finalization as well as work multiple projects.The candidate must be familiar with using standards and regulations, with the ability to use the standards and styles required for assigned projects. Candidate must also be creative and familiar with desktop publishing concepts to effectively communicate, including creating/assisting with development of PowerPoint presentations, brochures, posters, and Web site content.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.

4 or more years of work experience required.

Excellent grammar and writing/editing skills a must.

Excellent customer service skills dealing with all levels of personnel, including top-level executives and functional SMEs.

Ability to research and incorporate related NASA information and NASA and Federal style guidelines.

Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines, and adjust priorities as needed.

Ability to work on a team, take direction, follow processes, and learn.

Experience and knowledge of PC-based computers and software using the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.

Presentation and Desktop Publishing (Adobe Creative Cloud) experience preferred.

Knowledge of the following areas helpful, but not required: HR activities (not required to be an HR SME), Federal Government contracting experience, and Government Publishing Office (GPO) process.
