Job Title: Procurement Analyst Capital Investments/Services

Location: Mobile, AL 36608

Salary: $87K-$95K + a 20% bonus quarterly

Term: Permanent / Full-Time Role

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Responsible for designated Capital Investments and large Services.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Ensures plant needs and requirements are met while maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Develops cost reduction strategy related to categories
  • Processes a high volume of requisitions from multiple areas for assigned categories
  • Prepares, negotiates, executes, manages and coordinates agreements for assigned commodities and/or services
  • Researches assigned markets and understand the associated processes, knowledge of potential suppliers, and their capabilities
  • Evaluates, qualifies, and accurately select suppliers in terms of quality, service, cost and capability
  • Identifies activities that are not valued-added, within categories
  • Assists in obtaining quotes, analyzing bids, issue purchase orders and expedites
  • Communicates with requestors and suppliers regarding purchase order status such as due dates and deliveries
  • Complies with all Purchasing/Supply Chain policy, procedures, guidelines, and instructions including those regarding the procurement of materials and particularly the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Assists departments with problem resolution, such as invoice discrepancies, non-conforming material, and proof of delivery
  • Presents cost savings ideas and opportunities to internal customers on a regional and global basis and implements as appropriate
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & ACCREDITATION:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required
    • A concentration in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or other related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of applicable Capex or project management experience is required
  • Steel experience preferred, but not required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Understanding of Contract/Legal Terminology and Language at an intermediate/proficient level
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite; specifically MS Word, Excel, and Project
  • Market and Industry research/analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing best practices
  • Sound working knowledge of large ERP systems
  • Must have a solid understanding of TCO (total cost of ownership)
  • Project Management/Analytical skills
  • Ability to anticipate issues, perform independent/critical needs analysis, and take corrective actions resulting in thorough and effective solutions
  • Ability to work in a transactional, large volume, deadline driven purchasing environment
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and displays a high degree of professionalism
  • Interest and ability to work at our site location in Calvert, Alabama

HOURS OF WORK:
  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
