Overview
CLOUD SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR (CESAM-21-0262-F):Bowhead is seeking a Cloud System Administrator to join our team in Mobile, AL. The Cloud System Administrator will be responsible for configuring, managing and monitoring the US Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, Spatial Data Branch Geographic Information System (GIS) servers and services on the Azure Gov Cloud.Responsibilities• Apply basic knowledge of software development fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.• Assist with the configuration of multiple GIS Cloud servers and services.• Implement Cloud server patches.• Troubleshoot Cloud server and services issues.• Configure, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Cloud server security strategies, policies, and procedures.• Monitor and analyze Cloud server and service usage.• Provide and implement recommendations on server and service configuration changes and operational procedures to increase efficiency. • Administer and assist Cloud users. • Document service configuration and configuration procedures.QualificationsIn accordance with Executive Order 14042: Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, candidates should be aware that they may be required to have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire.• A Bachelor's degree is required at a minimum in addition to at least three to six (3-6) years of experience in a Cloud Administrator role.• Experience in Linux and Windows operating systems fundamentals and operations, as well as configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.• Experience in configuring databases such as PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Oracle, etc.• Experience in basic networking and security concepts such as DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS as well as practical knowledge such as reverse proxy, load balancer, and firewall configurations.• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.Preferred qualification include:• Experience utilizing Kubernetes, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Data Ware, Azure Synapse Analytics, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and Data Bricks.• CompTIA Security+ / Microsoft Azure Fundamentals CertificationPhysical Demands: • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodicallySECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level.
