Office Manager/Bookkeeper
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Huntsville is seeking a part-time Office Manager and Bookkeeper.
Job Description
-Self-motivated, well-organized, dependable, detail-oriented individual with the ability to maintain confidentiality
-Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently with flexibility in an environment where priorities can change rapidly
-Demonstrate good language skills and detail accuracy with multiple office work tasks and duties
Key Duties and Responsibilities
-Perform bookkeeping and payroll duties, bank deposits & reconciliations, accounts payable and other accounting tasks. Post all transaction to the accounting system. Reconcile accounts and prepare monthly reports. Prepare checks and deposits.
-Maintain bookkeeping files and prepare mandatory remittances of payroll taxes
-Answer phone and member inquiries, maintain membership and committee files and database
-Perform clerical and other related duties as required including response and generation of emails, coordinating and publishing weekly newsletter, bulletin, calendar, social media accounts
-Report to and support minister
-Work with staff and committee chairs weekly on clerical items needed for services and activities
-Maintain office supplies and coordinate servicing of equipment when required
-Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Bookkeeping or Accounting experience required
-Advanced clerical, administrative, and organizational skills
-Advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, Quickbooks or other accounting tools, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive
Working Environment
-Must be available to work daily, Monday-Friday in a tobacco-free environment
-Job Type: Part Time, 25-30 hours weekly
Required Education
-High school graduate; some college helpful
-Accounting certificate or classes preferred
