As a member of the Hardware Engineering Team, you will use your analytical engineering skills to identify and manage mechanical and/or materials performance requirements, translate those requirements into designs for special purpose military weapon systems, and ensure compliance through testing. Typical Duties:- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to develop preliminary designs based on functional decomposition of requirements using CAD/CFD/FEA, modeling, simulation, analysis, and rapid prototyping.
- Participate in project planning activities, estimation, and schedule development.
- Integrate functional components into Line Replaceable Unit (LRU)-level designs. Support integration of LRUs into higher-level systems.
- Support acceptance testing of LRU and systems per customer requirements (e.g. MIL-STD-810).
- Generate and review documentation for a Technical Data Package associated with the design, development, unit test, and integration of hardware components.
- Assess technical and integration risk and help identify mitigations.
- Review test plans and procedures; review and adjudicate Deficiency Reports.
- Establish and maintain an environment that assures compliance with industry standards for engineering drawings (ASME Y14.5).
- Review relevant milestone contract deliverables and provide recommendations across the life cycle of a development effort.
- Mentor and support the development of junior-level engineers on the team.
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Proficient using SolidWorks CAD, SolidWorks PDM, MS Windows, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio).
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating hardware and/or mechanical components.
- Prefer experience developing military weapon components and/or systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be eligible for a Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required
