Summary/Objective Five Stones Research Corporation is seeking candidates for a Senior IT Systems Analyst (Specialist Intermediate) for Huntsville, AL. Candidate will provide advanced-level Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS) support for the Missile Defense Agency.

Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
  • Perform full Cybersecurity review and analysis with recommendations for the Enterprise
  • Collaborate daily with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) teams to plan, design, manage and maintain an enterprise-wide network infrastructure hierarchy
  • Support the review process of the IT Governance workflows and update the workflows as appropriate to include Cybersecurity Management and/or Cybersecurity direction/guidance changes
  • Support with documenting, developing, reviewing and analyzing complex network engineering drawings and designs for technical accuracy and relevance
  • Support network communication requirements related to enterprise and test networks
  • Participate in network and systems design reviews to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies
  • Provide a monthly status report on the oversight, monitoring, metrics, and tracking of the implementation from the approved cybersecurity controls as outlined in the approved Security Plan and Continuous Monitoring Strategy
  • Provide cybersecurity engineering expertise and oversight of implementations improving Agency defensive cyber operations capabilities
  • Continuously monitor the RMF cybersecurity controls compliance strategies and implementation
  • Lead and oversee projects for status and situational awareness, utilizing data from various sources to track aspects of the project portfolio such as funding, status, and milestones
  • Research and review team contributions for technical accuracy and relevance based on business, mission, and functional requirements and adherence or compliance with Federal, DoD, and Agency policies
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and validating customer requirements

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities; however, this position is expected to collaborate with other team members on the contract to provide the best support for the government customer.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees must have the ability to see, hear and speak. The employee must also have the ability to lift objects up to 20 pounds, sit for extended hours and operate a keyboard.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, requiring a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience (10+ years preferred)
  • Demonstrated operational support experience and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly and accurately process multiple assignments with aggressive timelines
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to present to senior levels of management and to facilitate discussions at the senior stakeholder level

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following areas: enterprise information services, cloud computing, virtual networking, storage, data analytics, or cyber security
  • Ability to perform quality assurance evaluations
  • Experience using enterprise-level collaboration tools such as SharePoint
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully transitioning strategic goals to product operations
  • Knowledgeable in DoDAF, ITIL, or similar framework
  • Familiar with DoD networks and communications transport system
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, managing, and maintaining a broad spectrum of IT and IT security/Cyber technologies. (Specific experience with Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls is highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience with networking architecture, networking protocols, network security design, routers, firewall architecture, etc.
  • Experience with network scanning and mapping
  • Experience with risk assessment and analysis
  • Other technical network and security related certifications are a plus

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Ability to professionally communicate in both verbal and written forms
  • Professional user of MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Honesty, superior ethics, initiative, positive attitude, professionalism
  • Ability to work alone and with a team
