Role Summary:Our Ceramic Matrix Composite team is leading the way by revolutionizing technology of GE’s jet propulsion strategy. Our newest CMC site is located in Huntsville, Alabama. The Controls Engineer will report to our senior facility leaders. This role will demonstrate expertise in control systems, provide strong communication of business goals and processes, and has the expertise to solve problems. Communicate business goals, programs and processes
Demonstrate leadership and expertise of control systems
Build and maintain relationships with inside vendors, customers, operations and personnel
Coordinate several projects simultaneously and of moderate scope
Lead and influence small groups and business leaders
Qualifications/Requirements:Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience with control systems)
3-5 years of experience in control systems
Ability and willingness to work off shift (2nd/3rd shift), as required.

Desired Characteristics:Desired Characteristics:
Working knowledge of PLC and Single Loop Controllers
Experience with specifying instrumentation and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
Knowledge of communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, etc)
Knowledge of a wide variety of processes: Chemical, Fluid Dynamics, Mechanical, Thermodynamics, etc
Ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Experience working in a PSM facility
Familiarity with Process Hazard Analysis, root cause failure analysis, environmental and quality initiatives
