This Position is Contingent with Contract Award – Role is based on the Coast of Africa. This position is in support of a US Government Facility on the Coast of Africa. Using skills and expertise that you have honed will contribute to the success of future missions. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic would represent International SOS on this US government facility. This role will support the delivery of a comprehensive range of medical services. The candidate will provide advanced medical care and support during emergency situations, including assessment, treatment, and transportation of patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, the ability to work in high-pressure environments, and a commitment to patient-centered care.  Key Responsibilities:Assess emergency resources available to determine triage plan and treat most serious injuries first. Evaluate the patient’s condition on the scene and perform preliminary diagnosis and treatment. Coordinate with medical director, NP or PAs for additional medical advice. Provide advanced notification for preparing medical facilities to service incoming patients. Follow procedures and perform all reporting requirements. Leading and or participating in team response to an emergency. Drive ambulance equipment in response to radio transmissions. Participate in emergency medical/fire drills as scheduled. Attend training as required. Respond to emergency calls and assess patients’ medical conditions. Coordinate and supervise EMTs within scope of practice. Perform in support of field emergency situations; Intravenous (IV) line insertions, venous blood draws, intraosseous (IO) access, intubation, medication administration, and 12-lead electrocardiogram with interpretation, and knowledge of a wide range of emergency medications. Assist medical providers with procedures and treatments within the licensed scope of practice. Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, prescribed medications and care administered. Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine sufficient inventory levels; anticipating needed items. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
