Configuration Management Specialist to join our team in

Huntsville, AL to support an Army Contract. The ideal Configuration Management Specialist will provide technical expertise supporting information system components, configuration, and security patching for a large user community.To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required; and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Manage, define, and facilitate Configuration Management and Configuration Control Board processes and procedures.
  • Develop, review, maintain, and execute configuration management plans, policies, and standard operating procedures in accordance with federal mandates, NIST guidance, FISMA requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Establish configuration security guidelines to avoid unauthorized changes to approved baselines.
  • Monitor and audit configuration changes to hardware and software to ensure compliance with approved configuration baseline and confirm configuration management documentation is accurate, consistent, and complete.
  • Prepare and oversee completion of configuration documentation and maintain configuration management data to include the approved hardware/software baseline, STIGs, and accreditation boundary diagrams.
  • Initiate, track, and audit waivers and deviations to approved baselines, STIGs, and/or configuration policies and procedures.
  • Identify and coordinate standardized processes and procedures for version management, system builds, backups, recovery, archiving, and change management.
  • Review and approve all changes to the configuration baselines.
  • Ensure all implementations of IT requests or investments are in compliance with organizational policies or approved waiver/deviation.
  • Serve as a chair member for the Configuration Control Board and enact configuration changes as directed.
  • Oversee the delivery of software/applications and systems on Network.
  • Work with Tech Services to verify change requests are implemented.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • =ship is required.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 years minimum experience is required
  • Must possess an active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent NIST 8570 certification
  • DoD 8570 compliant

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong customer service/client facing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision and in a team environment.
