In this role, you will provide support to NASA's Office of the Chief Financial Officer at Marshall Space Flight Center. This position offers a hybrid work environment and the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled team.Your future duties and responsibilities: Serves as an analyst to systematically integrate business, cost estimating and financial management processes aiding to ensure the efficient stewardship of public funds. Supports the formulation of strategic financial plans, prepares cost estimates, and correlates financing requirements into executable budgets. Possesses thorough knowledge of the allocation, execution, and administration of approved budgets. Assesses products and procedures for compliance with Government standards, accounting principles, internal controls, and multi-tiered system application standards. Must be able to grasp interrelationships between financial management requirements and automated solutions, considering the current system environment and the potential integration of added systems concurrently or later. Ensures that tasks are completed in the time frame specified by the client and assists in the preparation of milestone status reports and presentations for colleagues, subordinates, management, and end user representatives. Familiar with activity-based costing, business case analysis and outsourcing requirements. Specialized experience includes monitoring, analyzing, and reporting budget formulation and execution activities for enterprise level, complex programs with multi-million-dollar annual value by reviewing and assessing historical financial data and trends, developing budget estimates, monitoring actual expenses, and making recommendations to resolve budgetary discrepancies using integrated enterprise resources management systems and tools. Proficient with Excel.Additionally: Provides strategic budget analysis investigating financial data to provide decision makers with crucial information, ideas, solutions and options for the effective planning and execution of the budget. Utilizes financial systems to prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports and effectively communicates and presents budget and workforce status to program management, center management, and HQ customers on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Monitors and tracks budgets including preparing phasing plans, PPBE submits, and cost analyses. Reviews, analyzes and presents budget and workforce status including detailed variance explanations with impacts and solutions. Analyze and monitor contract funding status. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to coordinate business activities, make decisions, plan and accomplish goals. Works independently, when necessary, with minimal guidance. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work from multiple customers, meeting or exceeding deadlines. Must possess excellent communication skills and communicate effectively in writing, person to person and in meetings. Must possess excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and be able to maintain confidentiality of data.Required qualifications to be successful in this role: BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience-or - HS Diploma and 6 years of relevant experience.Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required: SAP and Business Objects (BOBJ) or other accounting systems Government Financial Processes Knowledge of developing cost estimates / proposals for potential new workCGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
