Job Description

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the accounts payables, accounts receivables, cash management, general ledger account analysis, month-end close, financial reporting, and sales and income tax compliance. This position will have a significant impact on the business by ensuring accurate reporting of inventory, purchases, sales, transactions, and reconciliations.

This leader will need to be detail-oriented to verify, record, and pay the companies bills in a timely manner; track purchases and sales; verify transactions; review the general ledger for accuracy; and provide detailed month-end financial reports to management. Franklin Creative Solutions is growing and the Accounting Manager will need to assess functionality and measure performance by preparing, analyzing, and reporting Key Performance Indicators. A strong knowledge of inventory-based accounting, e-commerce, and sales and income tax compliance will also be needed in this role. As the Accounting Manager, there is endless opportunity for growth; everything Franklin Creative Solutions does touches accounting so they are constantly adapting and finding new solutions. Therefore, this will be a continuous process of learning the best software systems to keep up with the growing demands of the business, and as they begin to acquire additional companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payables/receivables - bills are verified, recorded and paid in a timely manner
  • Cash management
  • Maintain a perpetual inventory - track purchases, sales and valuation for accurate reporting of asset value and cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • Verify transactions in Quickbooks daily - day to day activity is accurate
  • Maintain the general ledger - account analysis and reconciliations
  • Complete month-end close - given to management in a timely manner with accurate financials
  • Prepare, analyze and provide KPIs to assess functionality and measure performance
  • Ensure sales tax compliance (local, federal, international) - meet deadlines, stay abreast of any changes, returns filed accurately and timely
  • Collaborate with management any needs in the accounting process as the business grows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a focus in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-10 years of accounting experience
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • CPA license preferred
  • Master’s in Accounting preferred
  • An in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience producing financial statements for stakeholders
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills
  • Experience in e-commerce
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory-based accounting
  • Office supply/business supply industry a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Engaging and strategic communicator
  • Sales and income tax experience
  • Experience working with international vendors
  • Experience with intracompany
  • Experience working with foreign currencies
  • Tech Savvy - constantly changing with the demands of the business - Experience with Quickbooks Online, MS Business Central, or equivalent

Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | 40 hours per week on average
