Northrop Grumman Space Launch and Missile Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Simulation Lab Manager/Integrator for the National Team (NE-E) to join our Space Sector located in Huntsville, AL.

The National Team provides timely, relevant BMD System level products that are critical to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). In addition, brings depth of "Reachback" ensuring affordable and effective Warfighter capabilities. It is a consortium of five major contractors working as one team providing forward thinking, industry subject matter expertise for the MDA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee day-to-day operation of the Integrated Discrimination Team's Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Computing and Development (MSCD) environments in a Simulation Lab Manager / Integrator capacity. Provide continuity across change notice development teams by assisting in the coordination of requirements product development activities. The MSCD operates at multiple classification levels on the Missile Defense National Team in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) with the objective of identifying requirements for the Missile Defense System (MDS). The MSDC consists of Linux workstations and servers with Windows 10 based computing resources interfacing to the Linux environment. Work cooperatively across both National Team programmatic and engineering functions directly supporting and enabling the advancement, management and execution of MSDC development environment while addressing evolving program priorities and meeting execution goals.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science in an engineering classification/Computer Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD Current, active Secret security clearance. Good communication skills are essential for this position. Strong background in system simulations development with specific experience or the "know-how" to oversee, solve and lead integrated simulation development, management and execution solutions as related to the following types of prioritized activities:

Simulation Development Environment Design, develop, deploy, manage and maintain physical and virtual lab environments across all security domains in support of system-of-systems level simulation activities that assess MDS performance as an integrated suite of systems. Simulation module components include a mix of custom built and MDS-element provided software, running on various operating systems. Work with developers and analysts to ensure the development environment enables analysis results to be repeatable and capable to of being delivered to the government customers as required. Develop and deploy with program IT support, standard Windows and Linux desktop and server configurations across all security domains in support of analytical and software development activities. Maintain a prioritized list of simulation or computing issues/needs and advocate for program resolution in a timely fashion so that organizational analysis and development objectives that are not compromised. Perform other lab simulation management related duties as required. These additional duties will likely include administering a small number of SQL databases and Apache web server installations, managing and tracking the allocation of MATLAB toolbox licenses, and representing the Product Team in coordinating activities across the program. Duties may also include specifying hardware and software for future simulation development efforts including associated purchase. Enable standardization within the software/simulation development environments, implementation of automated build and test processes, deployment of new tools and simulations such as static analysis tools, GFI provided simulations and the development of processes and controls that drive effectiveness and efficiency.

Simulation Configuration Management Administer numerous Subversion repositories across several classification levels. Tasks include asset planning, data transfers, user administration, branch creation and maintenance, and development and enforcement of best practices. Assess computing needs to determine common/base configurations, updating program plans, and coordinating, implementing and maintaining standardized simulation analysis configurations.

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with distributed interactive simulations, especially those compliant with IEEE 1278. Familiarity with: ESXi or similar hypervisor; MySQL, MariaDB, or similar SQL database; Apache; Linux shell scripting; GCC, make, Valgrind, DoxyGen, Boost Unit Test framework and Slurm. Skilled in Java. Experience with Linux environments to include RHEL6, RHEL7, Ubuntu, CentOS, and Cygwin Proficiency with either MATLAB or Mathematica
