Bristol Infrastructure Design Svcs, LLC is seeking qualified personnel to provide professional support services to the Government

at various locations within the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-

Atlantic (MIDLANT) Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The successful applicant will provide independent, timely, and professional Interior Design support,

services, and consultation for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for

the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands.

Major Responsibilities

Responsible for the preparation of detailed interior design solutions that meet functional

and aesthetic requirements, development of plans using AutoCAD, interior finish and

furniture specifications, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) packages, interior finish

packages, and cost estimates in support of in-house and A/E design-bid-build and

design-build projects for a wide range of projects. Typical design projects include the Naval

Shore Facilities, including multistory administration facilities, quarters, hospitals, dining

facilities, housing, recreational facilities, operational and support facilities, training facilities,

industrial shops, and a very wide diversity of other new and existing structures and

facilities.

Apply knowledge and skill to research and evaluate interior finish systems and FF&E in the

development of interior design projects and specifications. Demonstrate detailed

knowledge of the latest commercial interior finish materials and furnishings. Produce

results of research in writing and evaluate recommendations and facts. Prepare and give

oral presentations of proposed designs and other related topics.

Demonstrate knowledge of related engineering disciplines such as architectural, structural,

mechanical, electrical, and fire protection to assure that area of overlapping

responsibilities receive proper design consideration and that total project objectives are

met.

Minimum Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program and a minimum of 5 years of

interior design experience including at least 1 year working on Capital Improvement projects for a

Federal Agency.

Required Knowledge or Skills

Must possess an Interior Design License.

The position requires professional knowledge of interior design concepts, principles,

practices, and procedures.

At least 1 year working on Capital Improvement projects for a Federal Agency.

Preferred Knowledge or Skills

National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification is highly desirable.

Knowledge of DoD and Navy guide specifications, criteria, policy, industry codes and

standards, and standard practices

Measures for Performance

Communicates clearly both orally and written (20%).

Reliability: completes tasks within allotted budget/time

(20%).

Technical abilities: Applies problem solving independently, uses valid reasoning, pays close

attention to detail, determines correct solutions, and follows directions accurately (20%).

Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork in remote locations for extended

durations (10%). Proficient with software tools: AutoCAD, word, excel, etc. (15%).

Understands and follows Bristol’s company goals and standard operating

procedures (5%). Safety (5%).

Promotes a positive attitude / works well with others (5%).

Physical Demands

Light physical workload.

Employee must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10

pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including

the human body.

Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a

computer terminal and extensive reading.

Specific physical requirements include, but are not limited to, climbing, balancing,

stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and performing

repetitive motions.

The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. The worker is

subject to a variety of physical conditions – proximity to moving mechanical parts,

moving vehicles, exposure to arctic working conditions, or exposure to chemicals.
