As a Cyber Engineer Advisor supporting Texas Department of Transportation, you will be trusted to work with MS Sentinel SIEM and create plans and define alerts. You will help with SIEM integration during Transition and continued support for Program operations with firewall administration and other security related systems support. You will also assist in composing documentation for security processes and procedures deliverables during transition and base contract. This is a remote role meaning you can live anywhere in the continental United States, though travel to Austin, Texas will be occasionally required.In this role, a typical day will include the responsibilities below:Designs, develops, tests, and evaluates information system security throughout the systems development life cycle.

Tests, implements, deploys, maintains, and administers the infrastructure hardware and software.

Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design.

Deeply involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.

Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.

Deeply involved in the design and development of new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration/testing issues.

Provide engineering support for multiple technologies including the support of Microsoft Sentinel.

Ensures that necessary documentation is accurate and up to date including but not limited to, SOP’s, Work Instructions, Playbooks, and Security Tools Architecture

Ensures KPI’s and Metrics are tracked and captured for monthly and annual reporting

Required qualifications:BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

8+ years of related cyber experience

Experience with cyber analysis and cyber tool sets

Experience with Microsoft Sentinel SIEM technology

Must be a US Citizen due to the nature of the work at the TSS

Preferred qualifications:Industry Certifications such as CISSP or Security + Vendor Certifications - SIEM Vendor Certifications, Cloud Certifications

Strong System Engineering background and understanding of Microsoft and RHEL

Experience in Vulnerability Management Engineering with tools similar to Tenable
