Job Description
- Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and health/safety/environmental requirements.
- Communicate closely with line team members, QA, and the Shift Supervisor about quality, safety and production related issues including teammates from previous shifts.
- Assist with maintaining a consistent through-put with both work in process and finished product by feeding on or catching cans as needed.
- Share the responsibility for SPC checks with the Line Support Associate.
- Utilize a dial indicator and a go/no-go gauge.
- Inspect print quality to include legible label, appropriate color, consistent varnish, proper DOT information, accurate date code, and other details as required.
- Watch for can construction issues including, but not limited to ripples, puckers, and pinholes.
- Support line changeovers as required.
- Learn product specifications and all can-styles to make quick and consistent decisions on product quality.
- Become familiar with setup sheets and other related process and quality documentation.
- Ensure that proper packaging requirements are applied per the Factory Order Sheets.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following housekeeping instructions and 5-S philosophy.
- Work overtime and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Previous production experience with QA and inspection/SPC highly preferred.
- Able to lift boxes, tooling and other objects as needed.
