Mid-Level Transportation Engineer

AECOM is seeking to hire a talented Transportation Civil Engineer to join our Birmingham, Alabama office.Responsibilities:Projects may include the design of urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, interchanges, design-build and moreGeometric design of roadways creating horizontal and vertical alignments and modelsPreparation of design reports including design study reports and technical memorandumsCoordination with project stakeholders including clients, the public, utility companies, and permitting agenciesPlan preparation for roadway plans in accordance with ALDOT or Local standardsCalculate quantities and estimates for ALDOT and local transportation projectsProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesPerforms specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer under the supervision of a senior engineerGathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures under the supervision of a senior engineerProvides guidance to entry level engineersUses analytic and design skillsPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision to create and deliver work products to clientsWorking within the Highway group on the planning and design of civil engineering projects including local roadways, highways, interstates, multi-modal, utility, and drainage improvementsCollaborating with design teams consisting of multidiscipline design engineers, technicians, and plannersWorking under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and assist with tasks including preparing designs, reports, engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual aidsFollowing quality procedures QualificationsBA/BS + 4 years of relatedexperience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferredProfessional Engineer License (PE), or ability to obtain a PE within 1 year of hireTransportation roadway/highway civil design experience
