Individuals with special needs have always been my passion and heart, and I majored in special Ed at Auburn. I would love to be a resource for someone that needs/wants a safe, happy, loving environment for their loved one during the day. I know most school aged kids are at school, but I also know how hard it is to find care for loved ones once they graduate or are adults. I live in the Oak Mountain area of Birmingham and currently homeschool my special needs son. I also work in the nursery at a church in Mountain Brook on Sundays, and was background checked for that. I renew my CPR certification on Sep. 7th. An ideal fit would be someone that thrives in a laid back, relaxed environment. Our average days are super slow paced and we just go with the flow. My child is still in diapers, so I am no stranger to hygiene needs and everything that involves. I’m not even sure if there is a need for this type of care, but I wanted to offer because I know how worried I am about post-graduation care and I’m in a position to help others while also helping make up some of the difference financially that quitting my job caused. I’d be available beginning at 6:30 am until maybe 4:30 during the work week except for Fridays (until 2pm on Fridays.) Typically, my son and I just hang out here during the day, lots of tickles and snuggles and YouTube. My husband works from home as well. We have a fenced yard with a trampoline. We also do the zoo sometimes, and in the warmer months, we swim when our neighborhood pool is open (life jackets are our best friend). We have dogs (precious, gentle babies that loove people).
