ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Rides a horse through pens daily and to identify sick animals and removes sick cattle for treatment.
Returns treated cattle to home pens from hospitals.
Rides horse safely following all Dinklage Feed Yard, Inc. safety policies and procedures.
Maintains cleanliness of horse facilities and takes care of horses.
Reports pen maintenance issues to yard foreman and assists with maintenance.
Additional duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to ride a horse in a safe manner.
Knowledge of basic math functions.
Knowledge of cattle characteristics and horses.
Flexibility to work varied hours.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires working in extreme weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to materials in the feed yard.
The employee is exposed to various cattle breeds and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is required to climb and ride a horse. PPE must be worn at all times.
