To ensure quality health care at the staff level in the field of Psychiatry/Mental Health.
Responsible to Director of Mental Health Services and Nursing Staff. Interrelates and works effectively with patients, medical and mental health staff, and security staff at all levels.
Make suicide/close observation rounds as ordered. Chart on patients, if assigned, or as needed for behavior changes, etc.
Observe and record patient's eating habits.
Keep levels boards current; patient's name, cell number, census, etc. Report patient behavior changes to staff nurse.
Assist Activities Therapist with recreation and activities. Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the nurse.
Experience & Requirements
Qualifications of a Mental Health Technician
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university
At least 1 year of professional experience in behavioral management techniques, treatment planning process, group and individual counseling techniques and multidisciplinary team work.
