Vacutech LLC, the largest private employer in Sheridan, Wyoming, is seeking a Field Services Manager to join our expanding team. We are seeking a candidate with a technical capacity with Project Management experience who is self-motivated, process oriented, customer service driven, and has an incredible attention to detail. Candidates must have the experience and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking and excellent communication skills. This position requires working with our manufacturing personnel, sales team, other internal and external project managers and vendors.

The Field Services Manager oversees the operations of installation and field services provided by the company and directs the activities of those who provide the services to the customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages the field service personnel who perform on and off site routine services including installation, maintenance, repair and technical support.
  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the field services department.
  • Develops methods, guidelines, policies and procedures to support the field services functional infrastructure and facilitate efficient service delivery.
  • Develops and delivers training for the employees regarding the service procedures and company’s policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives.
  • Ensures all field service projects and/or installations are completed within budget and deadlines to meet customer needs.
  • Establishes and maintains quality evaluations and procedures.
  • Coordinates communication between home office and field office staff.
  • Monitors the work flow via audits and regular communication with the home office team and field services team.
  • Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved utilizing engineering, manufacturing, sales support and other teams as needed.
  • Liaise on support and emergency issues, particularly around logistics and customer service.
  • Supervises field service activities to ensure timely and complete resolution of issues.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • May be responsible for acquiring the tools, manpower and other necessary equipment to perform field service needs. May need to conduct research to identify the most efficient techniques and whether any equipment/tools should be upgraded/utilized.
  • Performs risk assessments for potential jobs and ongoing projects and ensures that all tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Solicits feedback from customers, provides collected data to the organization and helps determine whether customer’s exceptions have been met or not.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge and/or level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
  • Five or more years of managerial/leadership experience.
  • Five to seven years previous work experience in a service industry.
  • Three to five years of technical experience/background.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction and repair of the company’s manufactured product.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow through with processes set forth.
  • Mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions and using a tape measure.
  • Ability to participate and be active in the team’s efforts for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position manages all employees in the Field Services Department, including the installation team and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of key employees within these areas.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

  • The work routinely requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • The work is typically performed in a professional office environment but can include work in the field. Work in the field may occasionally require work outdoors resulting in inclement weather or heat. The employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and machinery with moving parts. The work requires the use of protective devices such as safety glasses or gloves when needed.
  • The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching or walking. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
