8322BRExternal Job Title:Field Network EngineerPosition Description:POSITION PURPOSE :The Field Network Engineer will support the America's field network service LAN and WAN infrastructure for both surface mining and underground. The overall vision, standardization and alignment with the business are key areas for this position. This position is a direct report to the Manager IT Service Delivery and has dotted line relationships with the Director of IT Services and Lead Field Network Engineer – US. This position plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of quality services to virtually all Corporate and Operating companies’ management teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Implementation and support of Cisco switching/routing, and wireless systems. Work closely with operational management for outage and planned maintenance. Supervise network monitoring and performance tools used at the mines. Supervise physical, virtual, and application updates.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCES: Strong background in global network enterprise organizations, attention to detail, and customer service 5+ years of IP networking 5+ years of experience with configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches 5+ years of experience with CISCO Experience in a mining or manufacturing environment is a plusKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must demonstrate ability to track and coordinate vendors and consultant activities Must exhibit a strong ability to solve problems. Must understand networking basics including QoS, VPN, basic routing and switching, including TCP/IP, RDP, UDP, and FTP Basic understanding of firewalls and monitoring tools such as splunk and PRTG Knowledge of outside plant services as well as structured cabling is considered a plus Knowledge of server technology including support of VM systems as well as physical boxes is considered a plus Knowledge of server Active Directory is considered a plus Must possess strong leadership qualities that require coordination with multiple teams to get problem resolution in a timely manner Must be able to work independently as a problem solver in a dynamic production based environment Must interact with corporate and operating companies’ management teams and act as a team member in a larger project Knowledge and certification in an IT governance framework such as ITIL is considered a plus Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, and must be able to communicate effectively across multiple business units daily Must be motivated, career minded, and be willing to work in a team environment Knowledge of Rockwell Alan Bradley plant logic controllers (CIP, PPTP) Must have documentation skills CCNA and /or CCNP is a plusPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT :
