A growing company in the Wausau area is looking for an experienced machining Supervisor.

Scope and Purpose:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for all production activities on the shop floor. These activities are in relation with scheduling personnel, capacity planning by department, inventory control, and material control for all production jobs. This position will work closely with Management on capacity planning information and daily activitys.

Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:

 Supervises, establishes, and coordinates the production personnel in a factory environment. Ensures proper work low between or within departments.

 Develop policies and implement plans to ensure production throughput on the shop floor.

 Ensures alignment of priorities and expectations by communicating with Scheduling / Shipping / Tool Room / MEs.

 Analyze and maintain production planning, including capacity limits and lead-times with Scheduling.

 Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.

 Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

 Provide internal performance metrics as required.

 Identifies non-moving inventory and reports out.

 Monitors and corrects Non-Conformances as they happen. Defines corrections and disburses actions to be completed.

 Reviews bottlenecks and process flow on day to day operations.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

 High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree in Business Management and/or three years Production Management.

 Experience in continuous improvement methodology including JIT and LEAN techniques.

Skills and Abilities:

 Proficient computer skills within the defined ERP system.

 Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.

 Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
