General Manager – Hands and Face Care

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The incumbent is directly responsible for the development and execution on a multi-year strategic plan for the Kleenex business in North America; deliver financial targets (net sales, gross profit, operating profit, and cash conversion cycle), while developing multi-functional organizational capabilities and talent to deliver sustainable results.

ORGANIZATION: People Responsibilities/ reporting line/partnerships

  • Lead a broad cross functional team of people dedicated to the category supporting brands and technical functions to execute and systemically evaluate business plans (marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, R&E)

  • Nimbly navigate and successfully influence the broader team whether direct, indirect or dotted line reporting relationship.

  • Represent NA on the Global Sector Team; actively engage in strategy development and deployment on a global level.

  • Partners with Customer Development leaders to ensure plans are implemented effectively and efficiently with the Customer Development Teams

  • Marketing agencies, including advertising, digital, multi-cultural, design, retail, and PR

  • KCNA and enterprise COEs in developing best practices, tools and metrics

  • Customer CEO, COO, CFO, buyers during customer and Innovation Summits and meetings

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic. Responsible for setting a category and individual vision and strategies, aligned with Global (SBP) and developing and executing the local plan (ABP). Recommends capital plan and product supply footprint to deliver SBP. Participates in Sector Leadership Team to set group priorities and manage key initiatives outside of direct category.

  • Operational. Responsible to deliver synergies within and across the KCNA assigned business to include: brands, products/solutions, product supply and A&P. Partners with other KCNA leaders and Global to establish and deliver “back end” capabilities, sector initiatives, and partner with Customer Development to drive the appropriate “front end” capabilities. Ensure compliance with established corporate financial and internal controls.

  • Customer/Shopper/User Focus. Responsible to partner with the ‘front end” for brand activation activities and customer relations/development. Accountable to set Trade Rates, Demand Forecast and Annual Targets in collaboration with Customer Development using AOP and S&OP processes.

  • Innovation. Partner with Global Sectors to deliver robust innovation pipelines and prioritize within category portfolio to drive sector initiatives, sales/profit targets and drive business innovations. Owns the category IMF gate approvals within approved sector portfolio.

  • Safety and Compliance. Uphold KC’s commitment to world class safety and environmental standards by insuring compliance to all internal and external guidelines. Uphold compliance with all laws while protecting all KC patents, assets, trademarks, business plans, confidential information and brand names

  • Talent Builder. Leads category talent management and development plan (for Marketing) and ensures the capabilities and a leadership pipeline necessary to secure the growth plans.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required/ preferred: Graduate degree (preferred) or undergraduate degree with equivalent work experience.

Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of business experience with a history of demonstrated strategic experience and knowledge with business success at an executive/senior management level within a medium to large sized operation; P&L management; CPG category development experience; Brand Management experience; extensive knowledge of the CPG industry as well as North American markets; broad cross-functional leadership experience in at least two functions (e.g. sales, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, R&E)

  • Able to work in a matrix organization driving collaboration across businesses and functions; major customers

  • Demonstrated capability in leading and inspiring diverse teams and individuals to work together to accomplish common goals
