Job Summary The Laboratory Processing Associate (Specimen Processor) will be rotating between 5 stations, spending 2 hours each day at each station. The Laboratory Processing Associate will be responsible for the receipt, asessioning (intake of samples, opening the boxes, making sure components are intact), processing (making sure samples meet viability requirements, adding buffers, etc.), and storage of patient samples received into the lab. Responsible for following laboratory procedures and written instructions (SOPs), and data recording. These stations include the following: 1st station: Sitting down at the computer as the sealed UPS boxes are coming down a conveyor belt. Within each sealed UPS box, there are kits that include 2 different samples (one is the actual container and the other is a test tube). They will be looking at each kit and recording name and information, making sure the dates and data is correct, and making sure the sample has not leaked. 2nd station: Adding buffers to the kits as they go along the conveyor belt 3rd station: Putting the samples into "paint shakers" with the buffers they need and mixing the samples together 4th station: Separating samples into different tubes, sucking them up into a tube and separating them into different tubes. 5th station: Moving kits from one place to another and stacking them.
