United Cerebral Palsy, or UCP, is a non-profit organization that helps support individuals with developmental disabilities. Right now, we are in need of respite providers. Respite providers help provide much needed breaks for parents and guardians so that they have time to run errands, work, and focus on self care.
This part-time opportunity would entail working with a smart, witty 25 year old man. He will be home from college and need a respite provider/caregiver to help him get out of the house and practice daily living skills. He enjoys cooking, volunteering, visiting libraries, and going to the movies.
This specific respite opportunity is short term with potential for more hours during the summer months. Right now the family is looking for support on Friday, January 3rd, Tuesday, January 14th, and Wednesday, January 15th, from roughly 7:30am - 3:00pm. This is a great opportunity for a college student on their winter break.
This adult would benefit from a friendly, engaging provider that will help him get out and exploring the community. Duties for this position include positive mentorship, community engagement, transportation, establishing routines,& having fun. Providers working with this adult will be required to drive, which entails going through a UCP approval process and access to a reliable vehicle.
