Salary Grade: 508/510Job PurposeThe position has significant freedom to conduct analysis and develop solutions to actuarial issues. The primary purpose is to conduct analysis, and communicate conclusions of analysis, helping to drive desired business performance. The position requires the ability to communicate complex analysis and conclusions to business leaders, assisting those leaders in taking appropriate actions to meet company financial objectives. This position has regular interaction with external audiences in support of filings, financials, or audits; and occasional contact with customers.SpecificsThis role will help with product development and assist in designing products that are simple, provide good value to the customer and maintain profitability targets. We are also committed to simplify application process with no invasive underwriting and working towards automating underwriting capabilities. This role will have strategic input into redefining current Life and Health product portfolio to achieve these objectives.This role’s success will depend on building relationships with key leaders throughout the product team which include underwriters, product managers, marketing, Chief Actuary, IT, Operations, valuation and financial actuaries. These relationships will be essential to influence the decision-making process, assumption setting, analyzing and interpreting financial results, as well as communicating conclusions of analysis that will help to achieve the company’s growth targets.Framework General Profile and Scope:

Job Responsibilities:

Owner of financial projection, pricing software and other actuarial modeling tools

Identify potential issues, related consequences, and recommend a solution, as well as identify opportunities for improvement

Maintain and improve or develop actuarial experience studies.

Act as project lead on actuarial studies, pricing/valuation strategies and policies.

Provides actuarial analysis, responses, and communications to product areas and other internal and external clients (e.g. in support of rate filings or audits).

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics or a related field

3+ years of experience in actuarial setting with progressive responsibilities

FSA or near FSA

Broad knowledge of insurance operations and products and emerging issues

Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences in informal and formal settings

Ability to interact with other functional areas as required

Ability to pay attention to detail, produce accurate results and develop self-validation skills

Strong organization and time management skills Ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals
