Simple Cafe is looking for inspired hard working passionate line cooks. Join a team with a great culture, and work with other cooks to execute our three bottom lines. Great Food, Great Service, Great Finance.

We are looking for professional line cooks to prepare food and ingredients the Simple way¦GREAT! Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and meet our mission¦Change the world one bite at a time through Great food, Great hospitality, and reconnecting communities.

Responsibilities

Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients

Prepare food for service (ex. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

Answer, report and follow executive or sous chefs instructions

Clean up station and prepare for following day

Stock station appropriately

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers

Leadership

Lead by example and have the willingness to be coached. Put in the effort to take 100% responsibility for your training to become a great line cook and individual.

Strong passionate attitude with a growth mindset

Willing to teach what you have learned

Operations

Assist the Executive Chef in menu, recipe development and execution.

Work the line and/or expo.

Ensure the expectations of Great Food, Great Service and Great Finance (Three Bottoms Lines) are met and constantly looks for ways to raise the bar.

Requirements

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a chef, restaurant cook or prep cook

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

Familiar with industrys best practices
