Commercial Testing Laboratory is seeking an Entry Level Laboratory Technician. Typical days and hours are Monday through Wednesday, 8:00am until 4:30pm and Thursday and Friday 12:30pm until 4:30pm. Note: Wednesdays are the Lab's busier days so one would work until 5pm to 5:30pm.
Responsibilities:
Sample preparation in the (BOD) Biochemical Oxygen Demand - Environmental Lab.
May include:
- weighing samples
- reading out
- washing glassware
- prepping samples
- calculating results.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Attention to detail is required
- Must possess a high degree of accuracy, dependability, math skills, time management, efficiency and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with other lab personnel.
- Good penmanship is a must!
- Possibly working weekends on a rotation basis.
Physical Demands:
- Majority of work requires long periods of standing
- May include lifting heavy materials (sample racks and jugs) in a small lab environment.
- May lift up to 35 lbs.
- Standing for long period of time, twisting, and stacking racks.
- There may be some strong odors in the lab at times (working with wastewater).
- Daily deadline pressure is part of job.
