Chestnut Consulting is looking to hire a highly experienced technical generalist to serve our rapidly growing client base. Ideal candidates would be strong in the Microsoft infrastructure product line including server, workstation, and management technologies. In addition, the candidate should be able to draw upon a wealth of field experience working for multiple environments to support a diverse client base. Prior Managed Service Provider experience a major plus.
We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and able to quickly adapt to new client environments. The candidate would be responsible for multiple client infrastructure systems from 5 to 250 PCs.
This position will focus on client facing technology project work 50%, client facing technology support 20%, serve as an internal staff resource for technical questions 20%, evaluate/test/implement internal process improvement systems 5%, and client growth 5%. Successful candidates will have strong communication, organizational, and time tracking skills. These skills are critical to success in this position. Must be able to act independently and evaluate/recommend technology solutions from the client's perspective. There is opportunity to grow into a Chestnut leadership position.
Job Requirements:
This is a technical hands-on position. Applicants must demonstrate ability to manage and maintain a Microsoft infrastructure
4-15 Years of IT Experience
Associates Degree or higher in CS, MIS, Tech or related field or equivalent experience
Current Microsoft Certification a plus
Responsibilities include:
Maintain effective and timely communication with clients and Chestnut staff
Administer database, messaging, file and print servers
Coordinate 3rd party support for application issues
Design and implement permissions on file and folder structure
Virtualization technology implementation, migrations and support including Hyper-V, App-V, and RDS technologies
Office 365 implementation, migrations, and support
Install and manage switching (HP and Cisco)
Install and manage firewall (Sonicwall/Smoothwall preferred)
Install and manage wireless infrastructure (Cisco, Meraki, and Ubiquity)
Tier 3 Helpdesk support. Answer escalated support calls in a friendly, professional manner. Respond in a timely fashion to email requests and resolve issues. Help Tier 1/2 staff grow in their technical abilities by sharing the solutions to advanced technical issues.
Keep documentation up-to-date.
Perform initial client analysis and design by providing pre-sales engineering services
Acquire IT knowledge to improve in the functional requirements of the position.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and travel between regional facilities for onsite support.
