In this position, you will be in charge of training hourly employees on new processes and confirming they still understand and are able to perform required tasks after time on the job. You will be providing re-certification or refresher training as employees cycle through regularly scheduled day and night shifts. In additional, you will provide both day and/or night supervisory relief coverage, while regular shift supervisors are absent due to vacation, etc. On a daily basis you will be supervising others, providing short interval control, root cause analysis, and other best in class techniques in order to attain the production goals while also in charge of ensuring that all equipment is run per the standard set by the joint collaboration with Plant Services-Maintenance group.

You will have the opportunity to perform the following:

Assess training needs with other supervisors and managers to produce a training plan for individuals in assigned team.

Plan, facilitate, and coordinate all curriculum details for new employee training.

Hold assessments to ensure that new and existing employees understand and retain the skills necessary to operate processes.

Adhere to environmental safety regulations while maintaining production schedule and quality for a chemical production facility.

Manage direct reports performance while assessing training needs and assisting with goal creation.

Coordinate production and maintenance activities for direct reports through planning, delegation, and assigning work.

Ensure accuracy of daily production reports, KPIs, and permits including assigned safety, environmental, and maintenance requirements as related to production processes.

Assist in routine troubleshooting and root cause analysis for processing issues with Process Operators.

Maintain appropriate daily staffing levels inclusive of documenting worked time, overtime, attendance, and vacation plan coverage.

Document employee attendance and performance issues to enforce workplace rules and productivity requirements.

Lead and complete all first level quality, environmental, and safety investigations.

Participate in safety, environment, and process audits and/or assessments through HAZOPs, pre-startup safety reviews, maintenance and/or capital project reviews, etc.

Required Skills

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

What you need:

High school education or equivalency (GED).

A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in manufacturing as a Production Supervisor, Process Operator or Engineer.

Computer literate within Microsoft Office Applications, Outlook, and SAP.

Maintenance exposure in manufacturing or other related industrial environments.

Capability to adhere to all safety and environmental regulation requirements while maintaining production schedule and quality.

Operational analysis and data management skills.

Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and rules.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment while also managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control laws and regulations.

What will set you apart:

Associates or BS degree in Process Technologies, Engineering, or related field.

Prior experience in a supervisory role.

Chemical and Phosphorous-based experience.

Training experience.

Starting Salary will depend on experience level

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 to $86,000.00 /year
