NextGen is seeking part-time employees (prefer current students) with strong desire and interest in software development, web development , industry trends, systems architecture, research, and modern computing platforms. This position requires st rong written and oral communication skills.

Activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Java or C# programming

Acquire geospatial data, find open source software to parse data

Implement software for ingesting geospatial data into RDBMS

Setup development and source control environment

Develop and maintain websites

Help and support technical proposal development

Review research and development requirements and opportunities

Research specific standards, technologies, and products

Compare and contrast strengths and weaknesses of competing capabilities

Prepare briefings and architecture design diagrams

Other activities based on applicants interest and experience.

Qualifications:

US Citizen required

Major in computer science, engineering, or information technology

Proficient with MS Excel

Thorough understanding of internet research

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

No prior work history necessary. Willing to train the right candidates!
