Financial Analyst-Security

Performs a wide range of accounting

functions to support the Security Department and the overall financial process

of WVU Hospital. Serves as a financial liaison between the Security

Department and collaborating departments to assure smooth uninterrupted daily

security services and budget support. Facilitates continuous communications

and process improvement as it relates to all security services. Completes

documentation and schedules for month-end budget preparation and external

audit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION,

CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.

Bachelor of

Science with a major or concentration in Accounting or Finance OR;

High School Diploma or Equivalent AND

Three (3) years experience in accounting, payroll or accounts payable

system.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION,

CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.

Bachelor of

Science in Accounting or Finance.

2.

Two (2) years

experience in the Security field.

CORE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The

statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work

1.

Evaluates financial processes to maximize

efficiency in the daily accounting operations. Ensures that internal control

measures are being followed.

2.

Investigates and communicates any variance

issues in responsibility areas to supervisor/director of those areas.

3.

Codes, routes invoices and forwards,

self-insurance funds, legal, taxed, payroll wage attachments, and

inter-related party billing.

4.

Completes daily miscellaneous receipts and

cash deposits and apply them to the accounting system.

5.

Serves as administrator of purchasing card

expense reporting system.

6.

Distributes monthly inventory and expense

reports.

7.

Ensures that all required reports and

documentation are completed and submitted in a timely manner.

8.

Maintains adequate supplies and availability

of equipment related to the security department vehicles and monitors the

usage of the vehicles.

9.

Maintains storage files for accounting area.

10.

Supports ongoing maintenance, repair and

replacement of departmental equipment such as camera systems, radio

communication systems and other equipment all officers on a daily basis.

Coordinates the purchase of all non-capital

equipment required for department and participates in Capital equipment

purchase planning.

12.

Supports performance improvement and quality

assurance initiatives.

13.

Assists in completing and compiling financial

support documentation for budget and external audit purposes.

14.

Promotes and contributes positively to the

teamwork of the department by volunteering to assist coworkers, contributing

ideas and problem solving with other co-workers.

15.

Participates in educational opportunities as

provided by the hospital to enhance skill related abilities.

16.

Assists in developing recommendations and

proposals to improve the security department in the hospital and in our

ancillary facilities and parking areas.

17.

Assists in planning and implementing change

and maintaining and improving productivity through participation in special

projects and assignments.
