Gentle Harvest Management, LC, is seeking a dynamic, experienced Wholesale Sales Manager for its established, thriving wholesale business selling organic, Certified Humane®, sustainable, and local meats. All of our products come from our parent company, Ayrshire Farm, and carefully selected partner farms. Ayrshire Farm has won numerous awards and achieved many certifications as a pioneer in organic farming and regenerative agriculture.
This position reports directly to the Company president and is based at our meat processing plant in Front Royal, VA. We are seeking self-starting candidates with unfailing integrity who operate well under limited supervision. The ideal candidate will be in food service, grocery sales, or meat processing. Customers will include large and small grocers, restaurants, and hotels.
Candidate Requirements:
5+ years of experience in perishable wholesale food sales
Knowledge of different kinds and cuts of meat
Passion for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships while growing sales
Excellent communication skills
A track record of providing outstanding customer service
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Duties to Include:
Calling on customers in the VA, MD, DC region (mileage reimbursed)
Supporting and building an existing customer base
Identifying and closing new sales leads
Working with our processing plant to assemble and deliver samples to potential customers
Contacting customers regularly to facilitate weekly orders
Maintaining customer pricing and an order processing database
Providing monthly sales and lead prospecting reports
