responsible for program planning, developing, analysis, and
monitoring of data in addition to supervising Complimentary and
Integrative Health Instructors, Whole Health Coaches, and Whole
Health Partners under the Whole Health Program for the Hershel
"Woody" Williams VA Medical Center.Learn more about this agencyResponsibilitiesDuties of the Social Worker (WHP) include and are not limited
to:Managing the administrative and clinical aspects of the WHP within
the facility, in multiple divisions of the facility.Coordinating interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget,
and health care services provided.Supervising employees assigned to the program.Possessing specialized knowledge and expertise in the assessment,
diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of chronic issues, including
the identification and treatment of mental health disorders within
the context of chronic medical illness, and the promotion of health
and well-being veterans.Responsible for the comprehensive development, planning, and
implementation of the program's policies and procedures, determining
the needs of the program, overseeing and directing the quality and
quantity of training, monitoring data-driven outcomes, and
establishing program initiatives and direction within limitations of
available staff and budget.Collaborating with Patient-Aligned Care Team (PACT) clinicians and
members of the interdisciplinary team to provide training, clinician
coaching, and consultation regarding health behavior change issues
that integral to the delivery of effective Health Promotion and
Disease Prevention (HPDP) services and programs.Planning, developing and delivering education, referral, and
individual and group therapy to patients.Serving as a resource to other members of the WHP multidisciplinary
team and other healthcare providers within the Medical Center.All other duties as assigned.Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements
by the closing date of this announcement, 05/31/2019.
Basic Requirements:
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be
appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens
in accordance with VA Policy.
- English Language Proficiency: Social Workers must be
proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA
Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j.
- Education: Have a master's degree in social work from a
school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social
Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that
are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the
school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in
social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in
social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to
the CSWE website to verify if that social work degree meets the
accreditation standards for a master of social work.
- Licensure. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker
positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or
certified by a state to independently practice social at the
master's degree level. Current stat requirements may be found on
the OHRM website.Grade Determinations: GS-13 Social Worker Program
Coordinator.
- Experience, Education, and Licensure: Individuals assigned
as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified at
the advanced practice level and must be able to provide
supervision for subordinate staff to qualify for licensure.
Their experience must demonstrate possession of advanced
practice skills in a specialty area or in administration
demonstrating progressively more professional competency and
judgement. They may have certification or other post-master's
training from a nationally recognized professional organization
or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study
and internship, or equivalent, or equivalent supervised
professional experience. In addition

meet multiple deadlines.
2. Knowledge and skill in management/administration, which
includes supervision, consultation, negotiation, and
monitoring.
3. Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work services

supervision, including supervision for social work
