Req Number 002Y1KJob DescriptionPerforms seniorfunctions in Plumbing including:maintenance of sanitary systems, water lines, vacuum, medical and gaslines and outlets.

Executes plumbing operations of the Engineering department.

Performs preventive maintenance procedures.

Packs and replaces valves plans and installs: cast iron, copper, steam, reheat, vacuum and medical gas piping.

Installs and connects new plumbing fixtures and related equipment.

Replaces sinks, tubs, showers, vent and drain lines, water lines, oxygen and medical gas lines.

Demonstrates capacity for lead, copper, galvanized, black steel, plastic pipes and can solder and braze.

Performs new construction and alteration jobs.

Removes, caps or relocates non-essential services in area.

Roughs in new bathrooms, sinks, sterilizers, sprinklers, oxygen and medical gas outlets.

Relocates risers where needed to accommodate new partitions.

Installs and tests vacuum and medical gas piping and outlets in patient treatment rooms.

Installs and tests new reheat coils, steam coils and humidifiers for air conditioning systems.

Installs and tests new water, waste, steam and air piping for sterilizers.

Installs and tests new and relocated sprinklers.

Insulates new hot and cold water, reheat, steam, chilled water piping.

Coordinates and cooperates with other trades to increase efficiency and avoid duplication of effort.

Performs general construction and emergency repairs as directed by departmental management.

Performs emergency repairs.

Responds in emergency situations and expedites as quickly as possible in conjunction with other trades.

Repairs and/or replaces any hazardous or leaking water, steam, waste piping; assists in snow removal duty.

Replaces any cracked or broken bathroom fixtures.

Demonstrates proficiency in the use of tools: hand and power.

Maintains and handles tools in a safe and proper manner.

Working knowledge of proper safe procedures for usage of the following tools: threading machine, hand drills, drain cleaning equipment, saw-z and Hilti equipment and glass piping equipment.

Performs related duties, as required.

ADA Essential FunctionsQualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Vocational school training with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing or related courses, preferred.

Minimum of five (5) years experience as a mechanic in related field including one (1) year experience in hospital environment, required.
