Salary: Pay Grade 4, $29,500/year. Classified, Non-exempt position.Position Requirements: Bacheloris Degree and at least 1 -2 years of related and customer service experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, a record of collaboration and teamwork with attention to detail, and strong documented skills in customer service. Excellent problem-solving, organization and multi-tasking skills, and demonstrated computer skills required. Knowledge of computer information systems such as BANNER is preferred, but not required. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Counsel and advise clients on student aid application process, requirements for eligibility, academic progress requirements and procedures for appealing, and other information related to scholarships, third party funds, grants, work study and loans. Conduct FAFSA workshops as needed. Create documents, website updates, email, and other correspondence. Analyze, interpret and follow federal, state and institution regulations and guidelines following established procedures necessary for delivery of financial aid to students. Perform student and need analysis, verification of financial data and other criteria to confirm student aid eligibility for all financial aid program funds. Serve as a collaborative member of the student services staff by working with all student services staff. This Counselor may work with specific grants/awards depending on caseload.
