Creative and collaborative candidate needed to fill the role of Director of Public Relations for Hospice of Southern West Virginia. The successful applicant will be a community-minded media expert with experience in public speaking, graphic design, social media management, media relations, event planning and fundraising. The Director of Public Relations must network both internally and externally with stakeholders to promote the valuable services our hospice provides within the community.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong grasp of grammatical structure and spoken vocabulary
- Ability to speak confidently on camera, in print interviews or radio with journalists
- Professional and calm demeanor during live interviews
- Demonstrable knowledge of Associated Press Style and press release composition
- Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, Premiere and Illustrator
- Experience managing business social media pages
- Firm grasp of HIPAA rules and regulations related to healthcare and media
PREFFERED
- Practical knowledge of design principals
- Event planning experience
- Public relations and marketing acumen within a clinical setting
- Experience with government relations
- Talent for managing relationships across dozens of cultural backgrounds
- A bachelor’s degree in public relations preferred
Some travel is required. Mileage is reimbursed.
